Constable 'consumes poison', dies

A 48-year-old UP police constable, Rajnish Yadav, allegedly consumed poison and died at his rented flat in the Naktadan area of Pilibhit city on Monday. According to police, he hailed from UP's Badaun district and was deployed at a police emergency response vehicle in Pilibhit for the past two years.

PILIBHIT: A 48-year-old UP police constable, Rajnish Yadav, allegedly consumed poison and died at his rented flat in the Naktadan area of Pilibhit city on Monday. According to police, he hailed from UP's Badaun district and was deployed at a police emergency response vehicle in Pilibhit for the past two years.
Yadav resided alone and when he stopped taking calls from his wife, she contacted her brother for a welfare check.

Yadav was found unconscious by his brother-in-law Yagyavesh Arya at midnight and was rushed to the district hospital at 1.30 am, where doctors declared him dead. The doctors suspected that he had consumed poison. SHO Naresh Tyagi said that the body was sent for autopsy and probe is on. So far, no complaint has been filed.
